The Days of Small Beginnings

There are these days we cannot forget,
The days of small beginnings
When we seemed confined between the already and not yet,
The days when the job offers kept us locked out by the very experience we craved,
How do you volunteer to gain the experience the employers hang between you and opportunities?

The days when we were more stressed on payday than before we saw the paycheck,
For we had to choose whether to provide either of the three basic needs we need to survive,
Our meager salary had to pay loans before we qualified to borrow again to go through the next month,
The days when we had the capital of the poor—the strength of muscle and bone,
And when we could not afford to be mentally mean because our brains had companies running,
The Executives had their bucks, but they forced denarii into our hands and shared with us articles on budgeting,

You would be excited to keep our ink flowing through a few bucks? We accept.

At best, we could only afford a corner solution*,
The days of small beginnings when we were supposed to be sorry when they mistreated us because we needed them more than they needed us,
Those days when we had to keep our ideas to ourselves because they demanded not only ideas but a funding program as well,
But these days taught us,
They taught us discipline and that we must spend our time only on things that matter,
These days taught us to keep friendships because we needed friends to help us wade through financial hurricanes,
These days taught us the importance of skills and diligence because these were our only arguments to remain at work when they fooled us into believing that we needed to do the same thing for five years to be declared experienced,
These days taught us how to be judicious with our expenditures, avoiding things we only need for embellishments,
We don’t need to prove a point to anyone even when our income has forced issues up the cadre after several threats to quit,
And because we were faithful while all we had were these little things, abundance cannot break us!
So, who is he who despises the days of small beginnings?

DEFINITION OF TERMS.
A corner solution is an economics terminology that refers to a solution to a minimization or maximization problem where an interior solution is impossible. In this case, a consumer can indicate the presence of constraints or limitations that impact decision-making and resource allocation.
