In The Two Hands of Saints and Sinners

In the two hands of saints and sinners,
Are two things struggling for allegiance,
On the one hand, there is everything they need to be sainted,
On the other hand, is everything that will make them tainted,
While one hand points to the path to Heaven,
The other makes hell a haven,
Only to realise too late that they missed a haven called Heaven.

In the two hands of saints and sinners,
Are two masters struggling for allegiance,
All have freedom to give,
But while one promises freedom from self and sin,
The other fans desires and wishes of the heart to gain sway,
Making a sinner free to destroy himself for now and hereafter.

In the two hands of saints and sinners,
Are two seeds,
Seeds that must be planted and watered,
But while one seed is of the kingdom,
The other can only sprout into a thralldom,
A tough choice remains on the saint’s and sinner’s plate,
While their inherent nature is a fertile ground for the seeds of death and dishonour,
They must find a way of augmenting the nutrient content for the seeds of life,
The seeds of death are tough and can grow on the rocks of the heart,
But the seeds of the kingdom have good manners and only accept the good soil,
The Seeds of death are sown broadcast by the same agencies that sow tares,
But the seeds of the kingdom must be sown with weeping and self-sacrifice,
And watered with consistency and steps on the upward way,
Surprisingly, both seeds yield a harvest greater than the seeds planted,
And whatever seeds saints or sinners plant, they must reap in abundance,
The unchangeable laws of life state it,
That whatsoever a man sows, he must reap,
And when the conditions are favourable, the harvest must be plentiful.

In the two hands of saints and sinners,
There are two explosives,
While one works to blow up sin and its propensities,
The other is meant to explode sin and the sinner,
A great deal of thought must be exercised,
Either of the explosives must go off,
If the sin is not detonated, the sinner must be blown sooner or eventually,
And the sinner will be guilty of hoisting by his own petard.

What is it you have in your hand?
Two elements that saints or taints,
Two paths that lead heavenwards or hellwards,
Two freedoms: freedom from sin and freedom in sin,
Two explosives; that blow sin and that blow the sinner,
Two seeds; of life and death,
Choose well!

  1. Amen and Amen 🙏 Thanks very much for explaining it perfectly, keep it shining đź’Şđź’Ş. Like this year’s camp meeting’s theme, we have to make a decision to either obey and live or disobey and die.
