Father God,
this day is dying in the Western Horizon,
Even if I had the will to keep going,
My body can’t take it anymore,
I must pause for rest and prepare for tomorrow,
But before I retire my fatigued frame to gain some rest from the thorns and thistles of this world,
Dear Father,
Accept my Thanksgiving:
Thank you that today I did not know what to do and my options remained one—to wait for your deliverance,
Thank you for my plans failed and now I am afraid to trust in the arm of flesh anymore—I will lean on the everlasting arms,
Thank you for letting the people I held dear fail me so that I can find true reasons for friendships—nothing to do with what they can do for me,
And LORD, my shortcuts equally turned out to be wrong cuts which are deep cuts, and I want to thank you for that—I will dare to access the promised land through the King’s Highway,
Thanks for trusting me with crucibles and fiery furnaces, I trust you have seen value worth refining—now help me to delete my Lamentations and write Psalms and hymns while in it,
And finally, thank you, LORD, that Euphrates dried up just when I needed its cool refreshing draught—I can only see rocks now, but at your command springs will erupt from the rocky deserts,
Blessed be the name of the LORD.

The fact that we can thank God 😁 is a whole jar of hearts full of unending surprises from a good God whose worth our Thanksgivings
