I Don’t Want Justice

I have been hurt,
I have been robbed,
I have been suppressed and intimidated,
I have been mangled down by the merciless hand of the oppressor,
I have been made a fool of by him that rejoices in holding captive, the bodies and souls of men,
I have had to swallow the hard pill of blatant disappointments,
Or worse still, put up with traitorous disappointments by those I called bosom buddies,
Even more, I have had to deal with lofty but empty promises of the high and mighty,
But I don’t want justice,
For I too I’m guilty of these very things,
And justice means I too must pay my overwhelming debts,
The safe path for me is to daily sing,
“Jesus Paid it All and All to Him I owe,”
But this is not justice,
It is the Marvellous Grace of Our Loving Lord,
The grace greater far than all my sin and shame,
And in it will rejoice and with confidence face eternity.
