Your Best is Good Enough

There is always room for improvement,
As we see in the appraisal letters,
As well you can be promised better,
If you put more effort next time,
And it seems it is almost taking another shape,
Being a vicious circle of an upward look,
With a margin of improvement yet again,
Being dangled unto us soliciting our reach,
And to many we are almost making a conclusion,
Of an assumption too bold,
That people are inherently insatiable,
That no wonder what you do,
You will still be asked to do better,
But what do you think?
Are you capable of handling an appreciation bold and chivalrous?
When we say that you are the best in the pitch,
That you’re the best in the deep end,
Or that you are saved and sinless?

Most people are not ready to be declared creme de le creme,
They will right away become complacent after such a generous conclusion,
So we keep you on track by a margin of improvement,
Stubbornly maintaining the refrain:
“I know you can do better than that”
To keep you on your toes.

But the reality is even more worrying,
Many people are guilty,
For they have employed the efforts of a finger,
To lift what needs the power of both arms.

What if we were to give nothing less than our best?

The world can be surprised 😯,
We have been endowed with so much vital force,
A wonder-working power that can make the world stop and say,
“There goes a guitarist 🎸”
“There goes a trumpeter 🎺”
“There goes a prolific writer ✍️”
Whatever your calling be, your best will always be good enough and worth appreciation.
Your Best is Good Enough 👍

  1. Many people are guilty,
For they have employed the efforts of a finger,
To lift what needs the power of both arms.
What if we were to give nothing less than our best?
    Very powerful.
